VSMPO-AVISMA is looking for new suppliers of titanium raw materials

17 December 2014

The VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, OJSC, is looking for new suppliers of ilmenite to rely on instead of supplier in turbulent Ukraine.

As RusBusinessNews has been informed by the Press Service of the Corporation, despite the military operation in the south-east of Ukraine, in 2014 the mining and processing integrated plants in Nezalezhnaya fulfilled their obligations by 100%.

Nevertheless, the Corporation is looking for alternative suppliers. It has received a sample batch of 5 thousand tons of ilmenite from Senegal; prior to that, it examined the raw materials from Mozambique.

According to Mikhail Voevodin, General Director of the Corporation, the Corporation is going to refuse from supplies of ilmenite with low titanium content (less than 56%), switching over to higher-grade raw materials (where the titanium content is or exceeds 56-60 %).
